Who’s on your shit list?

1100_tricks_for_pooping_in_pottyWhen I was a kid, this was not the place you wanted to be. If your parents or teachers put you there, the road ahead was sure to be difficult. In the spirit of changing perspective, I’m proposing a new meaning to the old “shit list”. One day I was sitting on the hopper contemplating life and I realized that things were taking longer than I expected (that happens sometimes when you don’t give a…well you get the point). I pulled out my phone and started to check my email, when I received an instant message from my wife. What timing, huh? She must have known that I was full of shit. That happens after 20 years of marriage. Anyway, I had an idea. Why not take this time everyday to send an instant message to the people that I care about the most in life. So everyday I send an IM during this private time to those whom I love the most or to those who need to hear that they’re on my mind.

Whomever you chose to send a message to will be thrilled to hear from you and the probability that your IM will be insanely timely is highly probable. You will likely touch someone when they need it most. I send an “I love you” to my wife and kids because they can never hear that enough.  The cool thing is that at some point during your day, you’re likely to receive a response from whomever you instant messaged.  Now you get back what you sent out.  After all, what you give is what you get in life.

The only caveat is that those who get your message daily will eventually know you’re full of shit and also know your bathroom habits. Hopefully they won’t be pissed when they find out that they’re actually on your shit list.  A small price to pay to spread the love. So if you’re gonna hit the throne anyway, why not include someone else with you and make ’em smile?   Life is serious enough.  Lighten up and have some fun with it.
